Rosebud Brownie Pops

Over the weekend while D and dad-in-law were out doing boy thing, mom-in-law helped me make these tasty treats. They are basically cakepops, but we used brownie instead. We used a candy mold to make the rose, we just stuck the pop into to the mold (about half filled). Sorry there are no step-by-step pics, I wasn't positive it would work!

a few other things we did

Sorry it has taken me so long to post rest of the pictures from our vacation. I don't have many pics from the last two days. We spent one day in Lancaster, PA driving around Amish country and we spent the last day in Virginia Beach.

A three day old baby donkey at a "no longer Amish" farm that does tours

Daryl cooking pork chops and asparagus that we bought at an Amish farmers market. Can you see my spices?

I got to have tomatoes with my dinner. Too bad D doesn't like tomatoes, they were delicious!

D got adventurous and bought some rhubarb juice!

The night we stayed at Virginia Beach it stormed...for hours. Luckily we got back to the tent in time to keep from getting soaked!

Old Sturbridge Village

Day two in Connecticut Keegan took us to Old Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts. We had tons of fun walking around and learning about life in a colonial village. They had an exhibit on guns for the boy and a yarn dying demonstration for us girls. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of those things, most of the pics are us being goofy, so enjoy!

Daryl and I in our "school days". It was love at first sight!

See Keegan, we are sisters!

Daryl joins the militia.

I don't know what you mean Daryl, this is so much better than your Shelby Cobra!

D being eaten by a plastic sheep....

Being short has it's advantages

D milking a plastic cow

D eating plastic cheese

And while Daryl was playing with all his plastic friends, Keegan and I went to school to learn our reading and 'rithmatic

Wining and Dining

Our first day in Connecticut visiting Keegan. We visited three wineries and had a super yummy lunch and dinner.

Haight - Brown Vineyard in Litchfield, CT

This is the face of someone who has sampled 14 wines and wishes her stool had a back! The good news is they gave us chocolate with our wine!

Keegan enjoying our clam and bacon pizza, it was so delicious!

Hopkins Vineyard and Winery in Warren, CT

Grapes!

Sunset Meadow Vineyard in Goshen, CT

Dinner at City Steam Brewery in Hartford, CT

Daryl is so excited about his beer tasting, he's not a big fan of wine!

Pill Box Spices

In honor of the camping trip the hubs and I are taking this summer I did a mini craft project. While camping we are planning on shopping at local farmers markets and doing most of our cooking on the fire, so we wanted to make sure we brought some necessary spices. And rather than carry full spice containers around with us, I thought a pill box might work nicely! Sorry there's no before pics, but it basically looked like a generic pill box, except it's pink!

Cupcake Pops!

These were so much fun to make, I got the idea from Bakerella. To get the cupcake shape I used a 1/2 tbsp. for the top and then just kinda smushed (is that a word, spell-check thinks not) the bottom around until it looked right. We shared some with our Sunday school class and I took the rest with me to work!

old made new and red, white, and blue

Here's a few more little projects that I've been working on....

Align Center
Old - found at an antique shop (thanks to my SIL for spotting it!)

In the process of becoming new! I covered it with aquarium rocks (don't worry, I made sure Skittle, our fish, had plenty of rocks first!)

A little patriotic project for July

And here's what our mantle looks like right now, it still need a little something (just not sure what that is yet) but it looks much better than it did. And now you can see my finished paper roll project and the finished 'E'. I haven't decided if I'm going to leave the 'E' sitting there, or if I'm going to hang it. Any thoughts? Hopefully tomorrow I'll post some more pictures of some others things we've been working on around the house!

As promised!

So I actually did this project with my mom-in-law quite a while ago, but better late than never right! I got the idea of paper roll (toilet paper or paper towel rolls) from Homemade Mamas and Growing Up Creative. So here it is!
I'll show off the finished project and where it's hanging later this week!
