Fajita Night

The Eaton Family dinner for February 2010 - Fajitas! Daryl's Dad requested especially flavorful fajitas, so Daryl did what he normally does....combined anything he could find basically! No recipes for him! He then let his 4 pounds of steak marinate for 2 days! Sorry I didn't get more pics, but here are a few!
Table full of munchies! Salsa, hummus, and cheese dip. Here's the cheese dip recipe I used. It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be.

Yummy!

The boys solving the problems of the world, they really can't help it.

Dessert, it was so yummy, someone had to try a piece ahead of time!

Winter Wonderland

Here's some pics of the snow we got to enjoy last weekend!

Our house the day after it snowed

I wouldn't mind seeing this a little more often!

Sweet Potato Fries

This is one of my new favorite side dishes! It was so easy and sooo tasty!

One largish medium sweet potato peeled and chopped. The second time I made these I made smaller pieces so they got a little more "done".

Toss in enough canola oil to coat, a tiny bit of salt, and as much pepper as you want (either cayenne or black).

Bake for 20-25 min at 450. Daryl made me put my sweet potatoes on foil so they wouldn't "contaminate" his tater-tots...

Eat and enjoy! That night we had turkey burgers on whole wheat buns and veggies. But they are good with just about anything!

Pale Pastures

So I'm not just a little obsessed with paint color names. If it doesn't have a pretty name I'm not using it no matter how much I like the color! Our master closet recently received a make over and this pretty green called pale pasture goes perfectly with the shady grove in our bedroom.

Old boring white

The anchors for the shelves are a pain to take out, plus that would leave big holes in the wall, so we just painted around them! That was mostly my job.

New pretty color. It feels so nice and cozy in there now! There's nothing like a fresh coat of paint to change a room completely. The house is really starting to feel like our home!

Dinner and a Movie

The hubs is working out of town tonight, so this is how I spent my evening. Homemade pizza and one of my favorite movies! It's a tough life, but somebody has to live it!

The recipe I used for my whole wheat pizza crust can be found here.

30 Years

Happy 30th Wedding Anniversary to my wonderful in-laws!

Delaina's First Birthday Party

We had a great time in Birmingham last weekend. We celebrated Delaina's first birthday on Saturday. My dad is really into nicknames. I am "Shaggy", Bryant is "Baby Bear", Granger is "Superman", Maggie is "Sissy" or "Mae Mae", and Delaina is "Laina Buzz" or "Buster". We all have multiple nicknames, but those are the most common. So here are some pics of Laina Buzz's first birthday party!

Delaina Hope Reese

Eating lunch and trying to take off her crown, of course!

Opening presents and eating the tissue paper

Granger played with her new train more than she did!

Maggie playing with the balloons. I know you can't see them, but there were tons of balloons!

Laina hanging with her mom and dad

Pulling the snowflakes off the big cake.

Eating the cake before the candle is blown out. She's a rebel.

Yummy cake! In addition to covering herself in cake, she fed a good portion to mommy, and put the rest in daddy's hair!

Hope everyone has a blessed day!
